toki+pona lipu mi    toki pona lipu mi

Intro

I discovered toki pona on a gemini capsule, and I was immediately fascinated.
It is a minimalist language of roughly 120 words created by a canadian linguist as an experiment.
I started with the memrise course to memorise the 120 basic words, and also did the audio course there. I also read the epub/pdf referenced below to pick up the grammar, and the rest was mostly reading on the web.
The language is designed to be quickly assimilated, even if like any language, mastering it takes a bit more time.
I find it great fun to play with, hence this resources page.
My web learning app is also available as an android app.
I made my own app because for some reason web tutorials teach the language using the latin transcription, and not the glyph designed by S. Lang.
I personnaly don't see any reason not to use it, since it is a fundamental component of the language. Moreover, in my experience, (Greek, Russian), it is better to learn a language directly in its native transcription mode.
Hence my app.
There are 2 official "alphabets": sitelen pona (simple:
sitelen+pona
) and sitelen sitelen (graphic: ).
I use the sitelen pona, the one you can actually use to write by hand.
That said, the sitelen sitelen alphabet is gorgeous. My name in sitelen sitelen: François :-)

Enjoy !
